Alive vs Lovable

Lovable is best at turning a description into a working web app. It calls itself a full-stack AI development platform for building, iterating on and deploying web applications using natural language, and it has a free plan. Alive starts from the other end. You describe a job once and an agent runs it on a schedule, a webhook or a GitHub event while you are gone, in tools such as Gmail, Google Drive, Stripe and Linear. When the job needs a site or an app, the same chat builds and publishes it.

When to choose Lovable

  • You want a web app or a site built from a description, and building is the whole job. That is what Lovable is made for.
  • You want to try it before you pay. Lovable has a free plan with 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Alive has no free tier.
  • You want your code in the Git host you already use. Lovable lists Git sync for GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket on its free plan.
  • You need connectors Alive does not have. Lovable lists Slack, Notion, HubSpot and Salesforce. Alive does not connect to those.
  • You want pricing by credits with no cost per person. Lovable says workspaces have unlimited members on all plans.

When Alive fits

  • The work repeats and nobody should have to start it: a weekly report, a mailbox sorted into drafts, a check on every pull request.
  • It has to happen in tools you already pay for, such as Gmail, Google Drive and Sheets, Stripe, Linear and GitHub.
  • You want every run to read back as a summary or the full log, with its credits, and run limits and stop rules on each agent.
  • You want mail to stay a draft until you send it.

Questions

Can Alive build what Lovable builds?

Alive's chat builds and changes websites and web apps in a project in the cloud with a live preview. You publish to a subdomain as a static site, add a custom domain, or deploy to your own Fly.io account, and you can export the source as a .zip. Native iOS and Android apps are in beta. Building is one part of Alive. If it is the whole job, try both on a real project.

Does Alive have a free plan like Lovable?

No. Alive has no free tier and no self-serve sign-up: access needs a code or an invite. Book 15 minutes with Lars, or leave your email in the box on the homepage. Lovable has a free plan.

Can I use both?

Yes, and they meet at GitHub. Lovable syncs its code to GitHub. Alive imports from GitHub, opens pull requests and can start an agent on a GitHub event.

Try it on your own work

There is no self-serve sign-up. The way in is a 15 minute call with Lars, or your email in the box on the homepage.
