Something is alive.
The next phase changes what a computer is to you. Not a thing you do your work on, someone you do your work with.
There is a new intelligence among us. It makes sense to be afraid of what is coming. We think the scary part is also the freeing part, if you look closely.
Work is changing shape. In a few years, agents will do most of the repetitive work. In the long run that is what sets us free.
Intelligence used to be scarce. It gets less scarce every year, and what that scarcity turns into is room to move.
Most people cannot simply quit their jobs. Starting something new is risky, and managing that risk is not easy. That is real. We do not pretend otherwise.
Much of our work is screen work. The rest is other people. Coordinating, getting a plan approved, building trust, doing the thing that raises the bar. Work is mostly making or doing things for others they can't make themselves, or don't want to.
That is why we are building Alive. Alive is here for you, for the long run. It won't be a friend. It will carry the work you handed it, in the background. And if it needs you, it will let you know.
We think it will take three years. We are calm by nature. We read every message.
This is also what we promise you. Read our pledge.
